Continuing in The Future
I have really enjoyed the experience of working with C-N Recycling. I have learned so much during my experience with them: they have given me a new prospective on how the world works and what I can do to help save it. I want to and hope to be able to continue to work with them in the future. Our mission isn't over yet, we still have a lot of work to do.
the accomplishments
Unfortunately we haven't been able to start the gardening project because it have been pushed back due to bad weather and there no timetable on when we'll be able to start it. We haven't been discouraged, there has been great outcomes regardless. We now have the Traffic Light Nutrition Guide, which has given students a chance to eat healthier and help the environment by choosing substances that can help alleviate some of the harm that our food does to the environment. We are making huge progress, green week was a huge success. The student participated in ever event of each day; the thing about it was that it seemed that the student enjoyed taking part of the event. We are happy with the accomplishments we have right now but we can't be satisfied with this success. We will continue to think of ways that will better and more efficient in spreading environmental awareness.
The Solution to Help The Recycling
Me and Anna has been brain storming trying to decide what will be the best forms of action to get our message out and improve the recycling problem. We decided to that I would write a letter to the university's president O'Brien asking him to invest a little of his resources into better and more efficient recycling bins. With these new bins, we believe that the faculty and students will be more inclined to use the bins.
The Recycling concerns on Carson-Newman Univerisity Campus
I was able to meet Anna Grace and was ecstatic when she found out that an athlete was volunteering with the organization. She told me how they have been struggling to convince the maintenance to throw the things that can be recycled into the recycling bins. The maintenance crew has not been the only problem: students rarely use the bins because the bins are placed in spots that not visible and students don't have enough excess. She believe that if the people in charge and students see an athlete getting serious about the environment that it'll make an impact on their decisions.

First Personal involvement
On February 19th I talked to Susan Kerr ,the head of C-N Recycling, to find out what days I would I be able to help the organization and what will they have me do. She told me to go to the Bonner house at 2:00p.m. on Friday February 24th and they will use me to help C-N Recycling with their recycling route. It was only four of us counting me but we got everything done in a timely fashion. I could tell that the students and staff of C-N recycling was really committed about this and doing this to help take care of the environment. I didn't tell them that I was a athlete yet, I decided to keep it to myself because I didn't what them to feel guilt that I may be missing practice or get in trouble with the team. I told them I was and what sport I did after we finished the route:They shined with joy when they founded out that I was athlete and that I volunteered to help them. I wanted to show them that I was just as committed to their organization as they was and it paid off.

inductory post
First and foremost I would like to thank you for taking out the time of schedule to read my blog. I am a sophomore at Carson-Newman University and I am also a track and field star at the university. I am teaming up with CN Recycling to bring more attention to what is happening in and to the environment and community in East Tennessee. As a athlete at the university my mission is to help bring other sports and their followers to understand and become more involved with CN Recycling and their message. Reading my blogs you will learn how the organization is doing and if I have completed my mission.
